150 g Dansukker Granulated Sugar
Approx. 950 g plain flour
Filling
150 g butter or margarine
180 g Dansukker Brown Sugar Dry
Glaze
Egg
Dansukker Nib Sugar
Instructions
These look like plain buns, but there’s a delicious sweet filling hidden inside.
Melt the butter/margarine and mix with the milk. Crumble the yeast into a bowl and add the milk mixture. Stir until the yeast dissolves. Add the saffron, salt and sugar. Work in the flour gradually to make a smooth, elastic dough. Cover with a tea towel and leave to rise for 30 minutes.
Mix together the butter and brown sugar for the filling. Put the dough on a floured worktop and roll into two lengths, then divide the lengths into 30 pieces. Flatten each piece into a disc. Divide the filling between the discs. Press the edges of the discs together to make round buns. Place the buns on a parchment-lined baking sheet, cover with a tea towel and leave to rise for about 30 minutes. Set the oven temperature to 225 °C.
Brush with lightly beaten egg Sprinkle nib sugar over the buns. Bake at the centre of the oven for about 10 minutes. Delicious served warm with a glass of ice cold milk.
